Facilitation Fundamentals: Making Your Meetings Work

Two 2-hour sessions

COURSE OVERVIEW

Unfortunately, simply getting everyone into a conference room or on Zoom doesn’t move a team closer to getting work done. Instead, leaders and facilitators need to design and facilitate a meeting experience that brings a group closer to shared understanding. Then, after arriving at a shared understanding, a group can make a decision and plan for action.

This workshop provides you with guided practice designing a future meeting experience to help you foster results-oriented meeting experiences Also, we introduce facilitation techniques that you’ll have the opportunity to practice in small groups. This practical focus ensures that you’re able to walk away with new knowledge and skills that you’re ready to use.

This course is ideal for leaders, facilitators, or others who are:

  • Convening meetings of all types,
  • Dealing with uninterested participants,
  • Struggling with an indecisive group,
  • Grappling with moving a group toward action (as opposed to repeatedly discussing the same issue), or
  • Want to improve and refine the meeting experience.
Participant Testimonials

The class clips along at a great pace with helpful information, tools, resources and teach backs; it was well presented with attainable results. I appreciate some of our existing facilitation methods were reinforced and new ideas and approaches were gained by attending this session. An overall great opportunity for fresh facilitation approaches!
